A 14-year-old boy was taken to the hospital after he was shot Saturday night in Southwest Miami-Dade, deputies said.

According to the Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office, deputies received reports of a shooting that happened in the area of Southwest 192nd Street and Southwest 113th Place.

Once at the scene, deputies found several spent casings, and they found the teen suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to his arm.

The teen was then taken to a nearby hospital by Miami-Dade Fire Rescue crews, where he remains in stable condition.

As the investigation into the shooting continues, deputies said the teen was walking to a nearby business, and he was struck by gunfire.
