The BBC wanted to break up its most famous Top Gear presenting team because it was deemed to be "too white", a former producer has claimed.
Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May presented the show during what many consider to be its heyday between 2002 and 2015 as the show became a global phenomenon.
Former producer Andy Wilman has now claimed BBC bosses were ready to axe one of the trio due to concerns over diversity.
