A motorist was stopped by police and handed a ticket for driving under 70mph on the M6. The driver was pulled over for breaking a rule that they were most likely "unaware" of.

According to police, they were driving too slowly in the middle lane of the motorway.

Traffic cops said that the car was driving at 55mph and 60mph before they decided to act. The inside lane was clear at the time, meaning the motorist was also guilty of middle-lane hogging, BirminghamLive reports.

The driver was pulled over in Warwickshire and spoken to by officers before being handed a ticket. Police said they were seeing "more people driving in this way" on the motorway.
