BANGOR -- A Bangor man is facing charges after allegedly attacking a McDonald's employee with a knife, according to police.
According to the Bangor Police Department, the incident occurred at the Main Street McDonalds shortly after 6 a.m. Sunday.
Police say they received reports that a male employee of the establishment had been assaulted by an unknown male with a knife.
Bangor police arrested Paul Bernard, 61, of Bangor at the scene.
Authorities say the employee of the business was transported by ambulance to a local hospital where he is being treated for non-life threatening injuries.
Bernard was taken to the Penobscot County Jail. He is being charged with Elevated Aggravated Assault, a class A felony.
The business will not be operating while investigators remain on scene.
