A former Indiana University student media advisor is suing the university, claiming it violated his free speech rights when it fired him earlier this month. Jim Rodenbush filed a federal lawsuit Thursday in U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Indiana, saying IU violated his First Amendment and due process rights after he refused an order to leave news out of the Oct. 16 Homecoming edition. Rodenbush seeks reinstatement and monetary damages. After his firing, the Indiana Daily Student confirmed IU cut all print editions, including special issues.
