Team India set South Africa a target of 299 to win the ICC Women’s World Cup 2025 Final at the DY Patil Stadium, as Shafali Verma, Smriti Mandhana, Deepti Sharma and Richa Ghosh produced noteworthy knocks in front of adoring home fans.

Deepti and Ghosh put up a valiant stand towards the end of the Indian innings to power India to 298 runs after the top-order gave the hosts a positive start.

Deepti made a measured half-century, scoring a run-a-ball 58 before being run out by Chloe Tryon while Ghosh fell victim to Ayabonga Khaka after notching up 34 runs off just 24 deliveries.

Smriti Mandhana and Shafali Verma opened the innings for India, putting up 65 runs in the first eleven overs, giving the home team a strong start in their quest for the silverware.
