RAPID CITY, S.D. (KELO) - For more than three days this week, fire stations in Rapid City were stepping into a live structure fire training simulation to get ready for the upcoming colder weather.
Fire crews had to navigate a live fire simulation of a house with a basement to rescue people trapped inside.
"With our live fire training we are working on search training. So we're looking for a fire location, letting other people on the fire ground units know, letting the command know, we're searching for victims. So that's the big thing we're working on." Live Fire Instructor Donavin Neugebauer said.
"We can move this tower around to make it whatever we want as far as building layouts go. And set ground rules for what doors we can and can't use to best simulate what you guys are living in
