Nottingham Forest have issued a statement in response to an attack on a train that was carrying ‘many’ of their supporters.

Forest had held Manchester United to a 2-2 home Premier League draw in the afternoon and then a major incident was declared on the 6.25pm train service from Doncaster to London King's Cross where multiple stabbings took place.

11 people were treated in hospital while two remain in life-threatening condition.

Two British men in their 30s have been arrested, with police saying there's 'nothing to suggest' the incident is terror related.

In a club statement, Forest said: “Nottingham Forest Football Club wishes to express its deepest concern and heartfelt sympathy to all those affected by the shocking attack on an LNER train bound for London yesterday evening.
