Tyler Adams doesn't score many goals, but the Bournemouth midfielder picked a good time to open his Premier League account.

Adams scored a 25th-minute equalizer in Sunday's high-profile clash at Manchester City, netting for the first time in English soccer.

After Erling Haaland gave City the lead in the 17th minute, Adams brought the Cherries level eight minutes later from a corner kick. Gianluigi Donnarumma failed to get a good punch on Alex Scott's delivery, with the ball falling kindly for Adams to volley home from close range.

Haaland would quickly score his second in the 33rd minute to restore the home side's advantage. Nico O'Reilly tacked on an insurance goal in the 60th minute as City secured a 3-1 home win.

The goal was the first for Adams at the club level since he scored for RB Leipzig against Mainz all the way back in January 2021.

Adams did score a memorable long-range goal for the U.S. men's national team in a 2024 Concacaf Nations League final win over Mexico.

The 26-year-old has been a fixture for Bournemouth, starting all 10 league matches this season. The Cherries ended the weekend in fourth place with a 5W-3D-2L record.
