Lebanon’s Health Ministry said that four men were killed and three others were wounded in an Israeli strike on Kfar Roumman late Saturday in southern Lebanon.
The total number of casualties since a ceasefire agreement in November 2024 went into effect has gone up to more than 300 killed and some 600 wounded.
Since the 14-month Israel-Hezbollah war ended with a U.S.-brokered ceasefire in November, Israel has carried out almost daily airstrikes on Lebanon that left scores of people dead, many of them civilians.
In the Southern city of Nabatieh, hundreds of mourners and Hezbollah supporters attended the funeral procession of five Hezbollah militants killed on the previous two days.
Hassan Ghaith was targeted while he was on his motorcycle in Nabatieh , while the other four , Mohammad Jawad Jaber, Abdullah Kaheel, Mohammad Kaheel and Hadi Hamed were the ones killed in the drone strike in Kfar Roumman late Saturday.
Lebanon’s Hezbollah started attacking Israeli military posts along the border a day after the Israel-Hamas war began, in what it called a “backup front” for Gaza. The Israel-Hezbollah conflict intensified into full-blown fighting nearly a year later, during which the Lebanese group suffered heavy losses and many of its political and military commanders were killed.
