FULTON COUNTY, OHIO, Ohio — The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal crash early Sunday after a vehicle overturned into Brush Creek in German Township.
Troopers from the Defiance Post responded around 6:13 a.m. to County Road 25 near County Road W in Fulton County, where a car was found submerged in Brush Creek.
Investigators said a 2009 Dodge Avenger was heading south on County Road 25 when it went off the left side of the road, hit a guardrail and bridge abutment, then overturned into the creek.
The 21-year-old driver from Defiance, who was the only person in the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Fulton County Coroner’s Office. It is unknown whether the driver was wearing a seat belt, and troopers said alcohol impairment is suspected.
