Kolar: A tragic incident occurred in Hugarigollahalli village of Kolar taluk, where a mother and her son lost their lives after falling into an agricultural pond.

The deceased have been identified as Mala (30) and her son Chakravarthi (6). According to reports, Mala had gone to the field to gather fodder for cattle, accompanied by her son. During the visit, the unfortunate mishap took place.

It is said that the child, Chakravarthi, accidentally slipped and fell into the pond. In an attempt to save him, his mother Mala jumped in but drowned as well. Local residents rushed to rescue them but were unsuccessful.

A case has been registered at the Kolar Rural Police Station.
