WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — The Great Plains Nature Center invites the community to volunteer at its annual Fall Work Day on Saturday.
The event is from 9 a.m. to noon at the center at 6232 E. 29th St. North.
Volunteers will work on several projects throughout Chisholm Creek Park, including trail cleanup, nest maintenance and plant cleanout.
Director Amanda Alessi said the event allows the community to learn more about nature while preparing the park for the winter months.
"The park sees thousands of visitors each year to learn and enjoy the outdoors," she said in a press release. "The community working together helps to keep it ready for everyone to experience nature in the most impactful ways!"
