TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) - As local organizations scramble to fill the need for families going without food stamps, leaders are asking for the community’s help.
Farm Share reports donations are down 28% and they’re seeing a significant spike in the need for food as families scramble to make do without SNAP benefits.
Mario Lopez, director of development, said the level of need is increasing.
“It’s happening at a time that you know resources are limited, the level of the need keeps rising,” Lopez said. “We are receiving almost 1/3 less than what we would receive in donations.”
