NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) - A heated argument turned into an hours-long standoff in southwest North Platte on Saturday, according to the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office.

Lincoln County deputies called to the area of Choke Cherry Road in southwest North Platte at 04:54 a.m. on a reported disturbance that involved two men, with a weapon being fired inside a house.

According to the sheriff’s office, the suspect, later identified as 30-year-old Terrell Cardenas, refused to exit the house. After several hours of talking to deputies through a window, Cardenas surrendered without further incident.

The sheriff’s office said Cardenas was arrested for terroristic threats, use of a weapon to commit a felony and unlawful discharge of a firearm.
