A new novel sheds light on the history of builder John Brown and his local lighthouse legacy.
Retired archivist Diane Allengame spent ten years researching the Imperial Tower Lighthouses that remain landmarks at Point Clark, Chantry Island, Cove Island, Griffith Island, Christian Island, and Nottawasaga Island.

The result is Allengame’s latest novel, , published by The Ginger Press in Owen Sound.
Allengame was at The Ginger Press Saturday afternoon to officially launch the book, sign copies and take questions from an audience of more than a dozen people.
The book details Brown’s life, the man who was contracted to build Imperial Tower lighthouses on the Lake Huron and Georgian Bay coastlines in the 1850s.
