BATON ROUGE, La. (WVLA) — Two girls were injured on the Ferris wheel at a festival in New Roads, Louisiana, on Saturday.
Pointe Coupee Parish Sheriff Rene Thibodeaux confirmed that the two girls were riding the attraction at the Harvest Festival in New Roads, about 30 miles outside of Baton Rouge, when they were thrown from the Ferris wheel.
The two girls were rushed to the hospital. As of Sunday morning, their condition had not been released.
Thibodeaux also shared that all rides at the festival would be closed until they can be inspected and cleared by the Louisiana State Fire Marshal's Office.
The Harvest Festival on False River started on Friday, Oct. 31, and runs through Sunday, Nov. 2. Attendees can enjoy food, craft vendors, and live music.
