One person remains in hospital fighting for their life after the mass stabbing on a train last night.

British Transport Police revealed they were a member of staff on board the train, which was diverted and brought to a stop in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire.

Deputy Chief Constable Stuart Cundy said their heroic actions had been seen on CCTV and had 'undoubtedly saved lives'.

Eleven people were treated in hospital following the horrific attack, with nine of those initially in a life-threatening condition.

Now the member of LNER rail staff is the only victim still fighting for their life.
