Gov. Jared Polis submitted his 2026-2027 budget proposal to the Colorado Joint Budget Committee (JBC) on Friday, outlining key areas of his proposal through a presentation to the press.
The presentation was divided into different topics, such as the impact of H.R. 1, education, public health, Medicaid and government efficiency.
The budget requests total expenditures of $50.7 billion, including $18.6 billion from the state’s general fund.
“This budget is a reflection of our priorities and supports our students by fully funding our schools, improving public safety, and addressing the strained fiscal environment we’re in due to H.R. 1 and President Trump’s reckless tariffs,” Polis said.
