ATLANTA — Georgia's griding win over Florida kept them in place in the latest AP top-25 rankings released on Sunday, while Georgia Tech was sent tumbling following their first loss of the season.

The Dawgs overcame the Gators late in Jacksonville, winning 24-20 to go to 7-1 on the season. They stayed put at No. 5 in the AP top-25.

The Yellow Jackets, meanwhile, were heavily penalized by voters after losing to N.C. State 48-36. They fell from No. 8, their highest ranking in over a decade, all the way down to No. 16.

"They lined up and physically kicked our ass in a lot of ways," Georgia Tech coach Brent Key said, unsparingly, on Saturday after the loss sent the Jackets to 8-1. "It is what it is. That's on me."
