A six-foot python was rescued from a tree at Lake Ridge Homes in Mallampet after getting trapped in netting. Alert residents contacted Friends of Snakes, who safely freed the reptile and arranged its transfer to the Dulapally rescue centre.

Hyderabad: A six-feet long python was successfully rescued after it got entangled in a net tied to a tree at Lake Ridge Homes in Mallampet here on Sunday.

According to Lake Ridge Homes resident and former DSP Venkata Srinivas Areti, the snake was first spotted by a few residents when it slithered up a tree.

“The snake got trapped in a net tied to the tree. A few residents who saw the snake immediately alerted rescuers from Friends of Snake,” he said.

The team from the Friends of Snake arrived at the location and removed the snake from the tree,
