EUGENE, Ore. – An estimated 757,000 Oregonians are losing access to their SNAP food benefits, as of Nov. 1.

Senator Ron Wyden and Congresswoman Val Hoyle held a press conference Saturday morning in Eugene addressing the problem.

“I'm going to fly back to Washington D.C. tomorrow,” Wyden said. “That means Monday morning we're going to be at this again.”

Wyden, Hoyle and other community leaders say one in five Lane County residents rely on their SNAP food benefits to put food on the table for their families.

“If Donald Trump won't help 750,000 hungry Oregonians, those kids and the seniors and the like,” Wyden said. “As Oregon's senior senator I'm going to and you can be sure I'll have the help of the Congresswoman [Hoyle].”
