Could these two NFL stars get traded? Probably not, but if so, they could really change a team around. It would cost (2)-1st round picks. What team would this make sense for, and would the Browns or the Raiders make such a move?

Myles Garrett, Cleveland Browns, Edge, has been at the center of trade rumors for much of the current NFL season, with teams like the Philadelphia Eagles, Las Vegas Raiders, Kansas City Chiefs, and Dallas Cowboys reportedly interested in pulling off a blockbuster deal for his services. Garrett’s production remains elite, leading the league with 10 sacks over the first eight games and being a lone bright spot on a struggling Browns team.

Reports indicate the Eagles in particular would go as far as to offer three first-round picks, knowing that adding a superstar Edge rusher like Garrett could vault their defense into the league’s elite. The impact for teams like the Eagles or Chiefs would be immediate. Garrett’s pass rush disruptions could tilt playoff games and fortify defenses that already have Super Bowl aspirations. On the other hand, sources inside the Browns organization have consistently downplayed the possibility, emphasizing his role as the franchise’s cornerstone and the difficulty of replacing a player of his caliber, even for multiple high draft picks.

Maxx Crosby, Las Vegas Raiders, Edge, has also surfaced as a target for turnover-hungry teams, even though the Raiders’ owner has been adamant about not letting go of their emotional leader. Crosby, like Garrett, is an elite difference maker, racking up double-digit sacks and consistently commanding double teams on passing downs. His salary, while significant, could be absorbed by contender teams with cap space, such as the Los Angeles Rams or the New England Patriots, both of whom could justify sending two firsts and a second for Crosby’s relentless pass rush and locker room presence.

A trade to the Patriots would be reminiscent of their most aggressive Super Bowl pushes, while the Rams have a history of swinging bold trades for proven talent. The effect would be similar to what Garrett would provide: instantly elevating the defense’s ceiling and playoff chances. Both edge rushers tilt the field.

The Browns and Raiders have strong reasons to keep their stars—from retaining foundational talent to avoiding potential fan backlash —but the right offer of two first-round picks and a second could force even the most steadfast front office to listen. As franchises in transition or on the verge of a title run look to make their move, the prospect of acquiring Myles Garrett or Maxx Crosby, while unlikely, shows how much one elite Edge player can reshape the landscape of the National Football League.
