GOODYEAR, AZ (AZFamily) — Authorities are working to recover a body discovered in a West Valley canal on Sunday morning.

At about 11:30 a.m., Goodyear first responders were dispatched to the Buckeye Canal , near Sarival Avenue and MC 85 , after someone fishing found what they thought was a body.

Goodyear police arrived and located the body of a deceased man. A body recovery option is underway.

Detectives are responding to investigate.
