Joel Embiid is losing a solid chunk of change.
The NBA has fined the Philadelphia 76ers star $50,000 for making a “lewd gesture” on the court, the league announced on Sunday.
The incident occurred midway through the first quarter of Philly’s loss to the Boston Celtics on Friday, after Embiid made an and-one.
It’s not the first time Embiid’s been fined for on-court antics. He was hit for $75,000 on Dec. 27, 2024 for an “obscene gesture” against coincidentally — or maybe not so — the Celtics.
Embiid finished Friday’s matchup with 20 points and six rebounds in just 25 minutes. The former MVP has appeared in just four games this season due to injury, averaging 17.3 points and 5.3 rebounds.
