PINE BLUFF, Ark. — Southern reached another new low Saturday at Simmons Bank Field.
With their 40-21 loss to Arkansas-Pine Bluff , the Jaguars reached a seven-game losing streak – the longest in the football program's history. When interim coach Fred McNair was made aware of this fact after the game, he said that it makes sense for that number of consecutive losses to be the new record for Southern (1-8, 0-5 SWAC).
“I never seen Southern, you know, just being here now in these shoes as interim head coach, I’d never seen Southern just fall down,” the former Alcorn State coach said. “So it's a challenge for us to try to get these guys out of the hole. So we just got to come back and fight for another week. We’ve got to go on the road again next week. So just give them the opportunity
