Once-promising season ends with third straight loss for Amsterdam football; 'It was a little tiny step'

BALLSTON SPA — With the campaign having officially reached its sour end, Amsterdam football head coach John Homich II wasted no time laying out the offseason expectations.

After only winning four games combined over the last two seasons, the Rams went 4-5 overall in 2025 and earned the No. 3 seed in the Section 2 Class A-Capital Division. On Friday night, a 51-12 loss to Ballston Spa, the No. 2-seed out of the Grasso Division, brought the year to a close in the Section 2 Class A Quarterfinals.
