EUGENE, Ore. - With concerns mounting over potential cuts to SNAP benefits in November, Catholic Community Services of Lane County is experiencing a surge in demand for its services. The organization is now urgently seeking community support to restock its rapidly depleting pantry shelves.
Tami Kinman, the associate director of the Community Service Center, expressed her worries and called for help.
"We are looking for anything, our pantry shelves are almost empty," said Kinman. "So, we're looking for canned goods, protein, dairy, meat, really we'll take anything people want to give us, shelf stable things are really good, some ready to eat things are good for our households who don't have a way to cook."
Kinman emphasized the organization's efforts to address the shortage.
