CLEARWATER, Fla . – A quick response by Clearwater Fire & Rescue personnel this morning led to the successful rescue of a dog from a house fire.

Crews responded to a blaze at 1436 Barbara Ave. at 6:42 a.m. Firefighters swiftly worked to extinguish the flames and, in the process, located a dog trapped inside the residence.

After being brought to safety, the dog, identified as Bandit, was immediately treated at the scene. Fire & Rescue personnel administered oxygen to the animal to help with smoke inhalation. Clearwater Police officers then rushed Bandit to a local emergency veterinarian for further treatment.
