Rangers are to contact the SFA to seek an explanation why Auston Trusty wasn’t red-carded for his foul on Jack Butland in the League Cup semi-final.
Celtic booked their place in next month’s final with a 3-1 victory after extra time at Hampden on Sunday.
Danny Rohl’s men were reduced to ten men when Thelo Aasgaard was sent off for a foul on Anthony Ralston not long after the Hoops had taken the lead through Johnny Kenny.
Then just before half-time Trusty’s trailing leg connected with Butland’s head when the goalkeeper had the ball in both hands.
The USA international defender, who would go on to be named man of the match, was shown a yellow card over the incident, but Rangers believe he should have been sent off and will now request an explanation from the governing body.
