Utah blood donors can get a free A1C test when they give blood, according to a media announcement. With diabetes affecting nearly 38.4 million Americans, the Red Cross is aiming to provide all blood donors with early detection and proactive health measures.
The American Red Cross of Utah is bringing awareness to National Diabetes Awareness Month by offering free A1C testing to all blood donors throughout the month of November.
Officials said the test will be included in the general donation process and measures blood sugar levels that can provide early insights into diabetes risk.
