Australian slugger Tim David is adamant his enormous six in Hobart went further than the record measurement it was given as he declared his long-term intent to “face more balls” and become a T20 World Cup weapon at next year’s tournament.
After belting 74 runs from just 38 deliveries against India on Sunday night, David said the match itself had little impact on World Cup preparations because pitches in India could change “depending on who they are playing”.
David swatted one of his five sixes at Bellerive Oval a mammoth 129m, which made it the longest recorded six ever struck in the history of T20 internationals and the biggest six recorded by broadcaster Fox Cricket.
