ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (WFLA) — A group of children from Ukraine spent the past week on a tour around the U.S., getting a break from the ongoing war at home.
“Starting from Boston, coming to Florida, we saw America, and it’s amazing,” said Oksana Yefmenko, a mother from Ukraine.
The children got an all-American tour, featuring the Blue Angels, a trip to D.C., a day at Disney World and even a haunt through the suburbs for good old-fashioned trick-or-treating.
“One kid was walking with me, and he said, 'can you pinch me? It feels like I’m in a dream. I want to make sure that I’m here for real,' he said,” said Ukrainian activist Tetiana Chupryna.
