BATH TOWNSHIP, Ohio —

Police near Akron are investigating a shooting that left nine people injured.

According to Cleveland NBC affiliate WKYC, the shooting occurred early Sunday morning at an Airbnb rental home in Bath Township, which is northwest of Akron and borders Cuyahoga Valley National Park. Advertisement

Offers were dispatched to a report of a shooting at the residence at 12:16 a.m. at a home on the 900 block of Top of the Hill Drive.

A birthday party was reportedly being held at the residence, with large crowds in attendance.

Police say that the gunfire erupted on the first floor of the home, striking multiple people. The suspect or suspects then fled the scene.
