CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - A man was shot during an altercation while aboard an RTA train on Sunday afternoon.
According to a spokesperson for the Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority (GCRTA), at around 2:30 p.m., there was a report of an incident aboard a Red Line train heading westbound near the East 79 th Street station.
Two men on the train got into an altercation, which ended in one of the men getting shot in the shoulder, according to a release.
GCRTA Transit Police and Cleveland EMS responded to the scene, and the man who was shot was taken to University Hospital.
The man who was shot was conscious and alert, the GCRTA spokesperson said.
The investigation is ongoing.
