STEUBENVILLE, Ohio — Students at Steubenville High School are again teaming with the American Red Cross to help save lives through blood donation.

The school's NIKE Club will host its first blood drive of the school year Thursday, Nov. 6, from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the new gym. Adviser Katrina Morrow said registration is full, with 41 donors signed up, and the goal is to collect 27 units of blood.

"This is the 11th year of the NIKE Club hosting the drive," Morrow said. "Last school year, 95 units were collected from three blood drives."

Six club members will volunteer at the registration table and canteen, while Red Cross medical staff will handle blood collection. Morrow said the goal is to give healthy students and adults a way to support the community through donation.
