TAMAQUA, Pa. — On Sunday, walkers in Schuylkill County spent their afternoon fighting food insecurity at the Tamaqua Hunger Walk.
It was part of the borough's 14th annual hunger campaign, aimed at stocking four food pantries in the area.
Organizers say those pantries now serve over 700 families a month; they expect that number to increase with SNAP benefits on pause and the holidays approaching.
Organizers say that over $6,000 was raised for the Tamaqua Hunger Campaign.
