SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) -- The Beach football team will make its first playoff appearance since 2011.

The Bulldogs earned the 29th seed and will travel to West Laurens, who secured the number four spot in the playoffs, on Nov. 14. Normally, the GHSA playoffs begin the week after the conclusion of the regular season, but this year, all tournament participants get an extra week off.

Beach went 5-4 overall, all of their games were against Region 3-AAA opponents. The Bulldogs and Southeast Bulloch each ended the regular season tied for fifth with 5-4 region records. Each school lost to the same teams in the region except Liberty County.

Beach won its road matchup against the Panthers on Oct. 24, 18-7. The Yellow Jackets lost on the road on Sept. 26, 10-7.
