LANSING, Mich. (WILX) -Community members gathered at the Woldumar Nature Center Sunday morning for the 17th annual Woldumar Trail Run and Muskrat Mile.
The event took place at the nature center, a nonprofit that engages more than 7,000 students in outdoor education each year. Participants had the chance to run a 5K on one of the nature center’s outdoor trails.
Lauren Smith, director of development at Woldumar Nature Center, said the event was inspired by the center’s trail usage.
“Woldumar is a great place to come out and enjoy the trails. We have over 5 miles of trails on our 180-acre property,” Smith said. “We get a lot of people coming out here to use the trails for a variety of reasons. And it really inspired us to engage with those people and give them an opportunity to come out an
