About 100 people gathered Nov. 1 in front of a Home Depot store in east Phoenix in support of immigrants as part of the Disappeared in America Week of Action, organizers said.
Participants began the vigil at 4:30 p.m. in front of the Home Depot on Thomas Road, near 36th Street, before walking 5 miles to the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement field office in Phoenix.
The walk took around two hours, according to Salvador Reza, one of the vigil's coordinators.
The protest was organized by the National Day Laborer Organizing Network, Comites de Defensa del Barrio, ACLU of Arizona, DSA, and Proyecto Progreso, according to a news release about the event.
