Patriots wide receiver Pop Warner has had to bide his time since the arrival of Stefon Diggs in New England, but he enjoyed a breakout game against the Atlanta Falcons this Sunday, having the best outing of his career after a terrible family tragedy.

The WR, whose real name is DeMario, made four receptions for 100 receiving yards and one touchdown in the 24-23 win.

After the game, he told NFL Network’s Cameron Wolfe his uncle had been shot and killed on Saturday night, and he had been struggling before taking to the field. However, he felt his uncle was with him once he got on there as he dedicated the performance to him.

“This whole morning, my mood was different, I couldn’t hold my tears… He was here with me today, 1st day in Heaven he was working,” he said, clearly emotional.
