1 hospitalized in Capitol Hill high

A fire in a Capitol Hill high-rise apartment building hospitalized one person Sunday, according to the Seattle Fire Department.

Firefighters responded in the early evening Sunday to smoke on the ninth floor of a building in the 500 block of 14th Avenue East.

One person was evacuated and transported to a hospital, the Seattle Fire Department wrote in posts on X.

The person’s condition was considered stable, according to the fire department.

Crews extinguished the fire. The incident was under investigation.
