Manly's hunt for a new chief executive has come to an end just 24 hours after Tony Mestrov announced his departure, with former captain Jason King named to take over.

Mestrov has held the position of CEO for the past three years but the last 12 months have been a turbulent time for the club, sparking mass speculation about his future.

No official announcement was made until Tuesday morning, where Manly confirmed that the 55-year-old would stay on in his role until December 19.

On Wednesday afternoon, King was named as his successor, with the Sea Eagles confirming that he will not step into the role until early 2026.

"Jason is an accomplished NRL administrator bringing over 10 years' experience to the Sea Eagles," Manly chairman Scott Penn said.
