Amman, Nov. 3 (UNI) Jordan’s Anti-Narcotics Department (AND) arrested 13 wanted suspects in connection with seven illicit drug cases in various parts of the kingdom over the past few days, the Public Security Directorate said on Sunday.
In one case, AND officers foiled three smuggling attempts. At Jaber border crossing, authorities arrested a suspect attempting to smuggle 80,000 narcotic pills hidden in a secret compartment of his vehicle.
Another suspect, who was set to receive the drugs, was later arrested.
In a second case, one person was arrested for attempting to smuggle 44,000 narcotic pills in coordination with accomplices outside the country. The drugs were seized in a storage yard near Jaber border crossing, and the main suspect was apprehended after a security raid.
