1Wichita, KS A 47-year-old former news anchor has been charged with killing her 80-year-old mother in a home in Wichita. Angelynn Mock faces a first-degree murder charge in the death of Anita Avers, as confirmed by law enforcement.

Officers responded to the residence in the 1500 block of East Crowley shortly before 8 a.m. on Friday. Upon arrival, they found Avers unresponsive in her bed with multiple stab wounds. She was transported to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Mock was located outside the home when authorities arrived and was later arrested. She is now being held at Sedgwick County Jail on a $1 million bond.
