In a historic announcement, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has declared a Rs 51 crore cash prize for the Indian women’s cricket team following their triumph in the 2025 ICC Women’s World Cup.
The Harmanpreet Kaur-led side defeated South Africa by 52 runs in the final at Dr DY Patil Stadium, Navi Mumbai, to clinch their first-ever World Cup title.
The BCCI’s reward exceeds the ICC’s prize money of USD 4.48 million (Rs 39.78 crore), making it one of the highest cash awards ever given to a women’s cricket team.
