ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (KFDA) - The West Texas A&M men’s basketball team opened the season with two wins at the D2CCA Tipoff Classic, improving to 2-0 on the season.

The Buffs started their campaign Friday with a 12-point victory over Missouri Western. WT led by 15 points at halftime and maintained control throughout the second half.

Six different Buffs scorers reached double figures in the opener. Junior transfer Fontaine Williams led the team with 17 points, three steals, two assists and one rebound.

As a team, WT recorded 36 rebounds, 13 assists, 11 steals and one block in the victory.
