The Michigan Wolverines captured their third straight win and seventh victory of the season in a hard-fought game against the Purdue Boilermakers on Saturday, but they got some bad news the day after the final whistle blew.

Star running back Justice Haynes, who suffered a foot injury the week prior in a win over in-state rival Michigan State, could potentially miss the remainder of the season. Matt Zenitz of CBS Sports reported the unfortunate update on Sunday via social media.

"Michigan star running back Justice Haynes is set to undergo surgery to repair a foot injury, sources tell [CBS Sports]," Zenitz wrote . "Recovery timetable is TBD but the current hope is to get him back at some point this season. Leads [Power 4 conference] running backs with an average of 122 yards per game."
