The Red Wings earned another victory, and another shootout victory, Sunday behind goaltender Cam Talbot, defeating the San Jose Sharks, 3-2, in San Jose, California.
Talbot stopped all four Sharks shooters, while James van Riemsdyk scored in the fourth round for the Wings, against former Wings goaltender Alex Nedeljkovic.
The Wings (9-4-0) have won three of their first four on this five-game trip that ends Tuesday in Las Vegas.
"We need to win those (types of) games, so we can say at the end of the year that's where we gained a couple of points and that's what we did," said Moritz Seider, who scored a goal.
