Nearly two months into the federal government shutdown, Washington remains paralyzed, with no budget deal in sight.
In this week’s DC Debrief, News 9 political analyst Scott Mitchell spoke with Washington correspondent Alex Cameron about the growing fallout from congressional inaction and how Democrats are looking to next week’s elections to regain leverage.
Cameron said the House side of Capitol Hill has been largely quiet since mid-September, with lawmakers still unable to agree on a deal to reopen the government.
“In some ways, it does seem like a ghost town,” Cameron said. “There’s been no settlement, and it doesn’t look like there’s going to be one this weekend.”
